HSBC appoints Scottish head
GLOBAL banking giant HSBC has appointed a new boss of its Scottish operations.
John Rendall, formerly the firm's chief operating officer for commercial property, has taken on the role of chief executive for Scotland.
His role will involve trying to increase the visibility of the HSBC brand in Scotland, and he will be based at HSBC Scotland's Edinburgh headquarters, where he will oversee all aspects of the bank's operations.
"I am delighted to have been appointed to this new role to progress the expansion of our operations in Scotland," said Mr Rendall.
"HSBC's financial strength coupled with our international expertise makes us well placed to support our customers in Scotland, particularly in these challenging times."
