Greece told to act over its fiscal woes

GREECE needs to take additional measures to fix its fiscal problems, the chairman of eurozone finance ministers said yesterday.

Jean-Claude Juncker told the Eleftherotypia newspaper: "We urge Greece to take measures. The fact your country has been twice in five years under (European Union] supervision, shows clearly Greece needs additional measures."

Greece's deficit breached the EU's 3 per cent of GDP limit in 2008. Its economy is predicted to grow by 0.2 per cent in 2009.
