Gratton joins MoneyQuest

MONEYQUEST, the Glasgow-headquartered mortgage broker, has brought in high-profile Paul Gratton as executive chairman.

Gratton is the former chief executive of Egg and will bring with him a team involved in the launch of that online bank and First Direct.

This includes Simon Jackson, formerly of Egg and HSBC, who joins as chief operating officer.

The new management team will work with Paul Reynolds, MoneyQuest's existing managing director. The online and telephone broker hopes the strengthened team will help it grow customer proposition.

MoneyQuest was set up in Glasgow in 1989 and now employs about 150 in Scotland.

Steve and Derek Pollard, the co-founders of the firm, have both resigned as directors. Derek Pollard will return in a business development role after a sabbatical.

Gratton said: "Our focus will continue to be providing expert financial advice and assistance both online and by phone.

"Our experience is that, in these uncertain times for mortgage customers, the reassurance and expertise provided by a good broker is in great demand."
