Graham's is the cream of the crop as dairy firm's sales surge 20%

FAMILY-OWNED dairy business Graham's has booked a 20 per cent hike in annual sales thanks to a push into new products and markets.

The Bridge of Allan-based firm, which this year celebrates its 70th anniversary, said turnover had risen to 40 million in the year to the end of March. Pre-tax profits came in at 820,959, up from 721,953 a year earlier.

The company, which was founded by the grandfather of current managing director Robert Graham, employs some 300 staff and partners with more than 50 Scottish farmers. Graham said: "Our growth is down to the considered investment we make in the business and the traditional way in which we do business.

"We have expanded the Graham's portfolio – creating a delicious range of vanilla ice cream earlier in the year and will launch family favourite flavours next year.

"The Graham's brand also made its debut across the Border. Our Gold Jersey milk can now be found on the shelves of Sainsbury's in London and the South East."
