Glasgow facing office shortage

THE availability of high-quality office space in Glasgow city centre is critically low, according to new figures from commercial property consultant DTZ.

The firm said just over 75,000sq ft of Grade A accommodation was currently available, with the bulk of this total made up of 4 Atlantic Quay and other pockets of space.

However, some 98,000sq ft of space is scheduled to come on to the market later this year once the latest phase of the Cuprum development at Cadogan Square completes.

In terms of occupier demand, DTZ has logged almost 500,000sq ft of requirements for the city centre over the first quarter of 2008.
