Games Workshop scores top marks
FANTASY model gaming company Games Workshop yesterday reported a rise in profits, with revenue recovering after a slow first half, boosted by its website and sales in Australia
The UK maker of the Warhammer brand of tabletop games saw its pre-tax half year profits more than double to 7.9 million in the sixth months up to 29 November, compared to 3m in the same period last year.
Mark Wells, Games Workshop's chief executive, said: "Although sales have declined in the first half of the year in constant currency terms, profits and cash flow have increased significantly, delivering a positive cash balance of 4.3m, up 15.3m over last year."
