Former Kwik-Fit Financial Services chief Brendan Devine is launching a specialist insurance broker service, backed by “multi-million pound” private investment.

Sure Thing Insurance Services will cater for higher premium drivers from its base at Eurocentral near Glasgow.

Devine, pictured, who has assembled a Scottish management team with more than 50 years’ combined experience in the car insurance sector, said the company could take its headcount to 140 over the next two years.

He said: “With financial backing from high-profile, sector-relevant sources and a management team with diverse experience, insight and know-how, we feel we have an excellent base from which to launch a brand new insurance broker to the market.”

Devine will spearhead and direct the business, while Steve Hardy, co-founder of SwiftCover, and Peter Hubbard, chief executive of UK General Insurance, have been brought on to the board as
non-executive directors.
