Fayre prices proving palatable
BAR restaurant group Brewer's Fayre said today a discounted food offer had helped it improve sales.
The company, which owns four restaurants in the Lothians, said its 'two for 9' meals offer had helped like-for-like sales climb by 1.3 per cent year-on-year.
Midweek covers had also surged ahead by 15.7 per cent, at a time when other firms in the sector are struggling to retain business.
The group also announced a 4.75 million investment programme for its pub fleet.
Patrick Dempsey, managing director of Whitbread Hotels and Restaurants, said that the chain, established 25 years ago, has seen a flood of value competitors come into the market. He added: "We're continually pushing the boundaries in the modern, value pub restaurant sector and we work hard to exceed our guests' expectations."
