'Excellent start' to year for Irn Bru firm
IRN Bru owner AG Barr today said it has had an "excellent start" to the year, as chairman Robin Barr steps down after 31 years at the helm.
Mr Barr was today set to address shareholders for the final time at the company's annual general meeting, before being replaced by Ronnie Hanna.
He was set to tell the meeting: "AG Barr has had an excellent start to the year with like for like revenue in the first 15 weeks well ahead of last year.
"The integration of the Rubicon business is currently going to plan and despite the difficult economic climate I am confident that even at this early stage of our trading year we are on course to deliver our plans."
