Equity boost for NXVision

A DUNFERMLINE company developing technology which sends video content from the home to mobile devices has won £250,000 in equity funding.

NXVision was awarded the cash from Perth-based angel investor Braveheart, Scottish Enterprise, LINC Scotland and its own management.

Its "place-shifting" technology lets users access audio and video content anywhere in the world from a mobile device, including laptops and cell phones, over a home internet link.

The technology now works on a number of handsets, including the Apple iPhone.

Chief executive Mark Smith said the funding "means we are now well positioned to secure significant contracts and associated revenues".

Braveheart, which led the equity round, also invested seed funding in NXVision in 2006.

Its chief executive, Geoffrey Thomson, said NXVision's technology "has created much interest in this rapidly emerging market".
