Wind farm report to be kept secret
TRADE body Scottish Renewables last night criticised accountancy firm KPMG’s decision not to publish its controversial report into the cost of offshore wind power.
A row broke out after a leaked press release containing figures from the report was used by the BBC’s Panorama series in November. KPMG had originally said it hoped to publish the report but has now decided not to release it because it was “open to misinterpretation” due to its findings being “too complex”.
Niall Stuart, chief executive of Scottish Renewables, said: “This is obviously very embarrassing for a firm such as KPMG given its core business and its strong reputation for sound advice and information, which has been built up over many years.
“This whole episode reinforces that energy policy is an incredibly complex issue and one that requires a well-informed debate based on robust statistics.”

Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 12:02 AMNiall Stuart wanting a well informed debate on energy policy. Having seen Scottish Renewables bletherings over the years surely this is verging on the ridiculous.

Monday, February 13, 2012 at 10:15 AMKPMG is one of the big 4 accountancy firms. Before Enron, it was the big 5. It may well be the big 3, or less, as investigations continue into their activities. How many have registered overseas companies, which though strictly not against the law, as yet, leaves a nasty taste in the mouths of us lesser, tax paying, mortals?

Are you disillusioned by rising electricity prices, over dependence on the "green" dream [especially uneconomical and inefficient wind farms] and the destruction of our countryside then please register your objection to the Government by GOOGLING "E-PETITION 22958" and following the link.
