Transport matters more than Trident
PETER Hughes, who criticised the SNP for opposition to Trident ('Hughes attacks SNP over nuclear power opposition', May 20), has forgotten the supposed reason for going to war in Iraq - weapons of mass destruction.
How can we then justify spending tens of billions of pounds on Trident II? We can't.
Improving the transport infrastructure massively will create better jobs and improve the environment.
Rosyth would benefit by improving direct links to Europe. The Rosyth-Zeebrugge service has brought in benefits but much more needs to be done.
