Talisman deal means big lift for EnerMech

EnerMech, the Aberdeen-based engineering group, yesterday announced its largest contract yet in a deal thought to run into tens of millions of pounds.

The contract will see the company manage the UK North Sea offshore crane assets of Talisman Energy under an initial five-year contract.

EnerMech will be responsible for operation, maintenance, engineering and inspection of more than 30 cranes located across Talisman’s 11 offshore installations.

Around 50 posts will be created and a number of staff will transfer from the current contract holder Sparrows, taking EnerMech’s total workforce to just under 1,200.

EnerMech managing director Doug Duguid said he believed the award was the largest contract of its type in the North Sea and that it underlined the company’s abilities.
