Plexus signs £6m contract
Plexus, the energy engineering firm, yesterday unveiled a £6 million deal with a “major international oil and gas operator”.
The Aim-quoted group, which has developed the “Pos-Grip” friction-based method of wellhead engineering, said it would provide high-pressure equipment on a standby basis.
It forms part of contingency planning in the event that a relief well is needed during the oil and gas development programme in the UK North Sea.
Ben van Bilderbeek, head of Aberdeen-headquartered Plexus, said: “This is the first contract of this kind for Plexus, where wellhead equipment will be on permanent stand-by for a customer in the event that a relief well is needed.
“This could potentially be a significant new business area for Plexus to develop and pursue.”
