Chillwind is close to deal with partner
Renewable energy firm Dulas yesterday said it was in advanced talks to purchase Highlands-based Chillwind, which specialises in meteorological masts.
Wales-headquartered Dulas, which has a base in Stirling, said the deal would allow the two to combine resources and expertise while targeting the UK wind farm market.
Dulas has been the exclusive installation partner of the Scots firm for a decade. Designed for harsh mountainous climates, the Chillwind mast system is said to be both “robust and innovative”.
Richard Tarves, Chillwind’s managing director, who will remain in place, said: “Dulas has led the renewable energy industry for over 30 years, and this partnership is a natural progression from our already close working relationship.”
Chillwind has an office in Glenelg and a depot in Inverness.
Dulas added: “Chillwind has developed a superior met mast product that far exceeds other designs.”
