ATH fails to mine a final dividend
ONE of Scotland’s largest coal miners axed its final dividend yesterday after “difficult mining conditions” caused a drop in operating profits.
ATH Resources, which is based in Doncaster but has all five of its open cast pits north of the Border, posted operating profits of £3 million in the year to 2 October, down from £7m. Turnover had risen 7 per cent to £84.2m after a sales price rise.
