Manufacturing keeps up its slow recovery
BRITAIN'S manufacturing output inched forward during June, new figures have revealed.
The month-on-month rise of 0.1 per cent ensured second-quarter growth of 0.6 per cent against the first three months of the year, underlining the recovery from a poor 2005, when the sector contracted.
Overall industrial output fared less well, reflecting maintenance-related shutdowns in North Sea platforms.
