Degi enjoys a second Prague spring

DEGI, part of Aberdeen Property Investors, has made its second major investment in Prague with the purchase for about 57 million of the fully let mixed-use complex Andel Palace in Prague's leading business district of Andel. The seller, a partnership backed by a Dublin investor, was advised by Jones Lang LaSalle Capital Markets, with DEGI advised by DTZ Prague.

GLASGOW-BASED SGM Property Consultants has advised Mountain Warehouse, which sells outdoor clothing, travel gear and accessories, on its Scottish expansion by acquiring new stores in Thistles Centre, Stirling, St James, Edinburgh, Olympia Mall, East Kilbride, and Gordon Street, Glasgow. Savills acted for the landlord on Glasgow, McParlane & Co on East Kilbride, Culverwell on the St James Centre and Eric Young on the Thistles Centre.

CALA Properties, advised by Cushman & Wakefield and Eric Young, has secured two more lettings at the Brandon Shopping Centre, a 350,000sq ft multi-let retail scheme forming Motherwell's town centre. First Group, advised by Ryden, has taken a ten-year lease on 1,178sq ft at 23,500 a year for use as a ticket office and drivers' rest area and the Salvation Army (Philip Wragg acting) has taken a ten-year lease on 1,104sq ft at 25,000.

AN ICONIC deal – acting for Dunedin Property, Ryden and King Sturge have signed up ICON Clinical Research (UK) for more space at Edinburgh's South Gyle Business Park. ICON took a first floor suite as a regional operation centre in March but after expansion has doubled its space with a second 3,700sq ft first floor suite on a ten-year lease at 18.70 per sq ft. ICON was represented by CBRE.

BT LOCAL Business has signed a deal to move to Bothwell Bridge Business Park in Hamilton, taking 1,277sq ft ground-floor office space. The deal, by Jones Lang LaSalle, completes phase one of the development, which is now fully let. Phase two units are being marketed at 195 per sq ft to buy and 15.50 for let.

ACTING on behalf of Taylor Wimpey UK, Atisreal has assigned the lease on a unit at Motor Retail Park, Halbeath in Fife in an off-market transaction to Aberdeen-based car dealers, Specialist Cars. The 6,435sq ft unit was used by Taylor Wimpey for its options centre and will now house a Volkswagen dealership, with Specialist Cars paying 47,000 a year until November 2014.
