Dairy milks customers with price rises
ONE of the UK's leading dairies has had to raise prices to offset rising costs.
Robert Wiseman Dairies said weakening bulk cream prices, a delay in implementing a price increase, rising oil-related costs and substantial increases in utility costs had pushed up its overheads.
As a result, the company has notified customers of an across-the-board increase in selling prices to recoup these higher costs and to allow a further rise in milk price to raw milk suppliers.
The report said: "We are confident this increase will be achieved and a significant improvement in the second-half performance is anticipated."
