Cricket bible Wisden is sold
CRICKETERS' almanack Wisden was today under new ownership after 15 years in the hands of the Getty family.
Bloomsbury Publishing said its purchase of the world-famous sports book reunited two of Britain's distinguished almanacks, Whitaker's and Wisden.
John Wisden & Co, publishers of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack, was bought by the late Sir Paul Getty in 1993 and, since the death of the billionaire philanthropist in 2003, has been owned by his son Mark.
Wisden has been published every year since 1864.
