Counting cost of identity fraud
NEARLY three-quarters of Britons know that burglars look to steal personal documents, yet only a third keep papers such as passports, driving licences and birth certificates under lock and key.
According to research conducted by identity theft firm CPP, the average cost of the crime per identity theft is now 8,000 because of the high number of fraudulent credit applications carried out.
