Energy storage technology company redT yesterday said the latest order for one of its systems has been shipped from its Scottish manufacturing facility.

The company said it had recently secured two orders for its systems which are produced by US contract manufacturing firm Jabil at its site in Livingston. The first has now been shipped to Germany, where a building services firm plans to integrate it with a solar photovoltaic system installed at one of its sites.

The second order is from a utility company that plans to install the unit at a customer’s warehouse.

The firm’s systems enable the storing of power for use on site or export at periods of high electricity prices. The firm is currently focused on “market seeding” through securing orders in key target markets.

Scott McGregor, chief executive of redT, which is quoted on the Alternative Investment Market, said: “These two orders extend the breadth of applications where these market-seeding units will be operating.”
