A MOBILE app developer that counts ScotRail and Skyscanner among its clients is set to take on 15 extra staff within the next six months as it targets a doubling in annual sales.

Edinburgh-based Kotikan, which was founded in 2007, has already seen its headcount swell from 34 to 50 this year amid strong demand for its products.

The firm’s founder and chief executive, Gavin Dutch, is also in the running for a Spirit of Scotland award, run in partnership by distiller Glenfiddich and The Scotsman.

He said: “To go from just me in my bedroom seven years ago, to working today alongside 50 really intelligent, creative and driven individuals is a huge privilege. Our success is definitely down to all their hard work.”
