COOPER Software, the fast-growing Fife outfit that counts BMW and Bristow Helicopters among its clients, is mulling acquisition opportunities as it seeks to double its headcount.

The company, led by managing director Frank Cooper, is also poised for continued double-digit sales growth, having seen revenues jump 48 per cent to £2.8 million last year.

Cooper said the firm, which supplies financial and business management software, is looking at “two or three acquisition targets” and a deal could be sealed in the second half of 2015.

The Dalgety Bay-based company, chaired by former Wolfson Microelectronics finance chief George Elliott, employs about 45 people and Cooper said that figure could rise to 90 over the next two years.

Elliott’s appointment has sparked speculation over a possible flotation, and Cooper said the firm’s long-term plans could involve a market debut or bringing in equity investment.
