Property management group Speirs Gumley is to open its first office in Edinburgh at the end of this month.

The firm said the move will help manage its commercial and residential developments in the capital as well as Ayrshire, Glasgow and Lanarkshire.

The 180-year-old group, which will be based in Q Court in the Davidson’s Mains area, has developments in the city including Tanalach. Five new staff will be based in the new office.

Well-known historic sites managed by Speirs Gumley in Glasgow include The Beresford on Sauchiehall Street and The Merchant Building commercial offices in George Square.

Lorraine MacDonald, a senior partner at the firm, said she and her colleagues were “really excited about the potential for all our services in the capital”.

She added: “We already have 1,400 properties on our books across the capital, and we expect this to grow to 2,000 within a year. Having a physical presence in Edinburgh will allow us to build significantly on our offering in the east.”
