The owner of the Superdry fashion brand has signed a deal to franchise its shops around Turkey.
SuperGroup, which is behind the label popular with celebrities including David Beckham and Pippa Middleton, has agreed a partnership with Demsa Group that will see the Istanbul-based retailer open at least eight Superdry concept stores over the next five years.
Demsa will launch three outlets by early 2014 – two in Istanbul and one in Ankara.
The Turkish chain will also sell Superdry clothing at its own “Brand Room” shops and in the department stores it runs in Turkey for Harvey Nichols .
SuperGroup chief executive Julian Dunkerton said: “Turkey is a territory that has held our interest for some time and our partnership with Demsa Group offers the perfect opportunity to enter this diverse and growing market. Demsa Group has an excellent understanding of our brand ethos and we look forward to growing the partnership.”
