A YOUNG entrepreneur in Edinburgh has unveiled plans to turn her beauty salon into a chain as she opens a second branch in the Scottish capital.
The launch of Eve McBride’s outlet in Stockbridge next year comes after her All About Eve salon in Bruntsfield underwent a £150,000 refit in the run-up to Christmas by expanding into the neighbouring unit and creating four jobs.
McBride – who studied marketing and design before becoming a beauty therapist and nail technician – opened her business seven years ago and has built up a client base of more than 500 men and women, ranging from teenagers to one 90-year-old customer.
She said: “Opening in time for Christmas was a challenge but we got there in the end, thanks to the great team we had on board. We have all worked tirelessly around the clock over the past couple of months to get it just right – the way I envisaged it.”
McBride – who specialises in Swedish massages, Dermalogica facials and Shrinking Violet body wraps – said she had used only local tradesmen and suppliers to kit out the extension to her Bruntsfield boutique.
She added: “Expanding my business has been a dream come true, especially now, as more and more people are finding the time and money to treat themselves than ever before.”
McBride said her new shop would stock items by Dr Lewinn’s, Ren, Neom, Miller Harris and Wolford tights.
