A microbrewery on wheels will offer up an unusual tipple or two when it rolls into Edinburgh’s Royal Botanic Garden on Saturday.

Campervan Brewery was launched last summer by Paul Gibson, with its hand-crafted beers being produced in small batches from the owner’s garage and a converted VW campervan, dubbed “The Hoppy Camper”.

Almost a year on and the fledgling business has struck a deal with Oddbins to supply nine shops throughout Scotland with bottles from its range.

Campervan Brewery now plans to undertake a unique live brew at this Saturday’s Gardeners’ Question Time summer event being held within the Botanics.

Gibson is set to use ingredients grown in the gardens with the resulting beer bottled and sold in the site’s restaurant a few weeks later.

“It should be a great opportunity for me to showcase exactly what we are about,” he said.
