The maker of a rare blend of Scotch and Japanese whiskies has released a third version on the back of its popularity, with the spirit set to be exported to more than 15 countries.

Edinburgh-based TBG & Co said the new edition has attracted a “very promising” number of international orders in the run-up to the global launch.

As well as celebrating the relationship between Scotland and Japan, the Glover 18 honours Thomas Blake Glover, whose initials gave the brand its name and who is nicknamed the “Scottish Samurai” for his influence on the modernisation of the Asian country in the 19th century.
