Upmarket shoe brand Jimmy Choo has appointed Elisabeth Murdoch as a non-executive director.
The daughter of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who founded television producer Shine, is also the founder and chair of media and technology investor Freelands Group.
Before setting up Shine, she was the managing director of Sky Networks, the programming and marketing division of satellite broadcaster BSkyB, now called Sky. Murdoch began her career in television at the Nine Network in Australia, later joining Fox Television in Los Angeles as programme and promotion manager for seven stations.
In 2008, she was appointed a Tate trustee by the Prime Minister, and has chaired the Tate Modern advisory council since 2009.
Jimmy Choo chairman Peter Harf said: “We are very pleased to welcome Elisabeth to the board of Jimmy Choo as she brings a wealth of experience.”
