Last year’s Glasgow Summer Sessions shows, featuring Scottish music giants Paolo Nutini and Calvin Harris, were worth £4 million to the city’s economy.

A study by economic and social research consultancy EKOS found that the music festival, which has been running for three years, attracted 70,000 people to Glasgow in August 2015.

Some 80 per cent of revellers came from outside the city and with 20 per cent staying overnight, therefore boosting their spend.
