Holidays firm Barrhead Travel has officially launched its latest outlet in the capital.
The Hanover Street store brings the total number of Barrhead branches in Edinburgh to six, and chief executive Sharon Munro said the “luxurious, chandelier-clad” boutique will offer customers the option to book one-to-one appointments with travel consultants to design their trips.
She said: “Our new Hanover Street store will offer a personalised experience for holiday makers no matter the kind of holiday they are trying to book.
“The launch of this new store adds to our already strong network of travel stores in Edinburgh. It’s in a central location and is open seven days a week, offering greater flexibility and accessibility for customers.”
Barrhead, founded in 1975, has created 20 jobs with the opening of the Hanover Street branch and another site at Edinburgh Airport, launched last month. The expansion come after an investment of almost £1.5 million in the business, which now employs about 850 staff across 56 locations. Its other Edinburgh outlets are at Queensferry Road and the Cameron Toll, Gyle and St James shopping centres.
Munro added: “We are also looking for two new modern apprentices for our Hanover Street store, which will create opportunity and structured career progression for exceptional young people looking to develop a career in the travel industry.”
