Glacier split carves out roles at top

Oilfield engineering firm Glacier Energy Services has unveiled a management shake-up as part of a restructuring at the Glasgow-based business.

Chief executive Dave Sturrock is to become strategic director following the creation of separate offshore and engineering divisions, led by Mark Derry and George Leggate respectively.

Former RAF instructor Derry was previously managing director at supply vessel operator SBS Marine, while Leggate founded Glacier’s Wellclad welding technology business in 1997 and returned to the group last year after spending ten years working in the business process outsourcing arena.

Chairman Scott Martin said: “Securing Mark Derry’s appointment has been an important step in the creation of these new divisions and I think we are in an excellent position as we work to accelerate our growth plans, with him and George Leggate leading their operations.”
