Graham’s The Family Dairy is bolstering its spreadable butters range after investing £1 million to ramp up capacity at its Bridge of Allan site.
The firm said it was broadening its support for Scottish farmers and customers with the launch of “lighter” and organic spreadable products. The spreadable butter market accounts for £3 of every £4 spent on butter north of the Border and is worth some £63m.
Managing director Robert Graham said: “Our focus is growing our presence in retailers across Scotland before we look south of the Border.”
Rural affairs secretary Richard Lochhead said: “The level of investment Graham’s has ploughed into its production is impressive and I’m delighted some of the funding came from the Scottish Government’s food processing, marketing and grant co-operation scheme.”
