A shortage of supply in the market for eggs has helped profits rise at family-owned Glenrath Farms.

The West Linton-based company also saw annual sales stay above the £50 million mark despite the loss of a substantial order from one of its largest customers.

Pre-tax profits at the company rose to £7.83m in the year to 31 May from £7.49m, with sales dipping by 3.5 per cent to £52.3m.
