Scottish building products firm Stevenswood is upping its presence in Edinburgh with the acquisition of two sites for new outlets.
The Livingston-based firm, which manufactures windows, doors and kitchens, will open trade centres in Leith and Sighthill to add to its existing Loanhead site in the capital.
The company already operates ten trade centres across Scotland including ones in Aberdeen, Glasgow and Stirling. Managing director Ron Hepburn said the firm had been looking to expand its operations in Edinburgh for some time. “It’s a buoyant market with a dedicated and highly professional trade, and we can’t wait to grow our customer base in the capital,” he said.
As well as selling to the trade, the outlets will provide showroom facilities for members of the public.
In 2014 Stevenswood invested more than £1.7 million in its Livingston factory, which has capacity to produce more than 1,500 windows and doors a week. Established in 1997, the company now employs 85 people.
