Six Scots make cut at Allianz Golf Open Toulouse Metropole

SIX Scots made the cut last night at the Allianz Golf Open Toulouse Metropole.

Steven O’Hara was the best-placed of them after shooting a 71 for a 138 halfway total to sit six shots off the leader, Italy’s Matteo Delpodio. Chris Doak (72 for 139), Lloyd Saltman (72 for 139) and Raymond Russell (72 for 139) were a shot further adrift, while Callum Macaulay (72 for 142) and Jamie McLeary (75 for 143) were left with a bit more work to do over the weekend.

Delpodio bounced back from a stuttering start to his second round to shoot a 67 and a 132 halfway total. He three-putted the second for bogey and dropped another shot on the fourth hole at Golf de Toulouse-Seilh, in south west France, but he rallied in stunning fashion.

He collected his first birdies of the day at the sixth and eighth holes to get back to level par for his round, and added another gain at the 11th before holing a 30 foot putt for eagle at the 14th to reignite his bid for a maiden Challenge Tour victory, one shot clear of Denmark’s Joachim B Hansen and England’s Simon Wakefield.
