Clean Air lines up power deal with Volvo Trucks
SMALL BUT BEAUTIFUL
CLEAN Air Power, a developer of dual-fuel combustion technology, has signed a letter of intent with Volvo Powertrain to incorporate its system into Volvo truck engines. This is likely to be followed by a formal contract by the middle of 2009.
Clean Air said: "The first commercial products are anticipated to be available in late 2009 or early 2010."
The letter of intent covers the development and commercialisation of products that will include Clean Air Power's technology and they will be marketed and supported by the Volvo Trucks division.
It also provides for certain milestones relating to gas substitution levels, emissions compliance, performance and durability testing. Clean Air, which has a market value of about 6 million, said it was confident these milestones will be achieved based on its prior experience of developing its technology on Volvo and other manufacturers' engines.
Chief executive John Pettitt said: "We believe Volvo's brand and resources will provide the ideal springboard for future sales growth. We see this as a very significant milestone which has now been successfully achieved."
