THE following business news is expected tomorrow:
• National Express is due to give an update on trading, coming at a time of growing speculation about a potential takeover and its attempts to renegotiate its East Coast franchise. In the first three months of the year, the East Coast mainline managed passenger growth of only 0.3 per cent, much lower than the firm's original expectations.
• Marks & Spencer is due to provide an update on trading, which is expected to show a better first quarter performance.
• The latest manufacturing purchasing managers' index is due to be published.
