Carey aims to be Streats ahead
THE Streat, an Irish chain of delicatessens and cafés, has unveiled plans to open 25 stores in Scotland within five years.
Master franchise holder Gerry Carey, a former head of retail operations at Rangers Football Club, has brought in accountancy firm Johnston Carmichael to advise on the expansion.
Carey runs three stores himself – in Airdrie and at Silverburn and Queen Street in Glasgow – and is in discussions with new franchise owners to open in East Kilbride, Newton Mearns, Clydebank, Livingston and Aberdeen.
