Carbon Trust generates a boost for SDC
THE parent group of a Scottish engineering firm is expecting a boost to its business after being named as a "recommended contractor" by the Carbon Trust.
The voltage transformers made by East Kilbride-based SDC Industries - which are used by customers including Ikea, Holiday Inn and the UK Ministry of Justice to cut up to 20 per cent off their electricity bills - will now be promoted by the trust.
The company will be listed as one of the equipment suppliers to firms that want to take part in the "Implementation Solutions" pilot scheme being run by the Carbon Trust.
Philip Palmer, executive chairman of Active Energy, SDC's parent group, said: "Our technology represents an attractive solution for both public sector and private organisations seeking to reduce their carbon footprint."
