Business gazeteer: Davidson and Co add a tasty presence to CDS board
LOCH Fyne Oyster Bar, paper-maker Tullis Russell and Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op are all represented on the new-look advisory board of Co-operative Development Scotland (CDS).
CDS, the Scottish Enterprise subsidiary charged with promoting employee-ownership and co-ops, will now benefit from the wise words of Bruce Davidson, managing director of the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, Geoff Miller, financial director of Tullis Russell, and Jeremy Miles, managing director of Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op.
Professor Johnston Birchall, of Stirling University, and Fergus Younger, the co-ordinator of Argyll Food Producers, are also joining the CDS board.
Sarah Deas, CDS chief executive, said: "Having so much hands-on experience of these benefits on our advisory board can only be beneficial."
Familiar faces remaining on the board include Hollis Smallman, president of Scotmid, and Robin Stewart, chairman of the Co-operative Group's Scotland and Northern Ireland Board.

"INDIAN trade minister Kamal Nath hated the term 'emerging world'. He referred to the developed countries as the 'submerging world'."
Lord Mandelson.
GOOD DAY
David Seaton
IT'S time to hang up the flak jacket for David Seaton, who is leaving his post as chief financial officer of US-based Armor Designs to take up a similar role at Resource, a support services firm. Hopefully none of the locations in which Resource supplies cleaning, car parking or reception services will require any body armour.
BAD DAY
Online shoppers
A MAJORITY of websites selling digital cameras, mobile phones and game consoles were found to be lacking, according to a report from the European Commission. An investigation into 369 websites found 55 per cent gave misleading information on the cost of products, misleading information on consumers' rights and incomplete contact details for the retailer.
