Brewin Dolphin stays upbeat
INVESTMENT management firm Brewin Dolphin said it was pleased with the performance of its Scottish offices, despite profits declining by more than a third.
The company, which recently renamed Edinburgh-based Bell Lawrie under its UK brand, said pre-tax profits fell 38 per cent in the year to the end of March.
The figure was impacted by the cost of redundancy, which set the company back 2.9 million.
Bryan Johnston, senior divisional director of Bell Lawrie in Scotland, said: "Without doubt times have been difficult in the market recently and so I am very pleased with the contribution the Scottish offices have made.
"We have been paying particular attention to our costs here in Scotland but with a steady flow of new business and some hopeful signs from the market we are looking forward to the summer."
