Braveheart backing AppShare
SCOTTISH technology and commercialisation investor Braveheart, has ploughed £180,000 into University of Strathclyde software spin-out AppShare.
The round of funding, the eighth investment it has made from its Alpha EIS Fund, follows its backing of Livingston-based Elonics and Edinburgh's Pyreos.
AppShare, which was formed just last year, is looking to carve a strong presence for its ePlace platform in a market estimated to be worth 1.1 billion now and up to 1.4bn by the end of 2010.
AppShare's ePlace technology allows the secure sharing of software applications between users at different locations.
Stephen Behan, chief executive at AppShare, said: "The support of Braveheart ... has come as a considerable fillip to us as we look to further develop and commercialise ePlace."
