Best Buy searching for 9,000 new staff
STATESIDE consumer electronics giant Best Buy yesterday began a recruitment drive for the first of 8,000 jobs it hopes to create in the UK over the next five years.
The company, which has formed a joint venture with Carphone Warehouse and already employs some 150,000 people, will open its first outlets in Thurrock and Southampton in the spring.
It said yesterday it had begun the search for recruits to a nine-week academy programme, in which staff will receive training on the latest technology. Each store is expected to employ about 100 people.
