Bellway optimistic as reservations soar
BELLWAY the housebuilder raised hopes of a recovery in the UK property market yesterday when it reported that reservations in the four months to 30 November were 51 per cent ahead of the same period last year, averaging 91 a week.
Reservation prices are also up 16 per cent, the Newcastle-based firm said. It reported particularly robust trading in and around London, but it admitted that other regions, particularly in the north of the UK, continued to experience "testing conditions".
