Beanscene closes two Capital shops

TWO coffee shops next to the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Government headquarters have closed.

The closure of the Beanscene branches, at Holyrood Road and Commercial Quay in Leith, comes after the brand was taken over by upmarket delicatessen and restaurant chain Fifi & Ally.

All 20 staff have transferred to Beanscene stores at Haymarket and Nicolson Street.

While the Holyrood Road branch was advertising for new staff until just days ago, the closure was agreed before the sale of Beanscene to the Glasgow Firm.
