BE sale talk denied
FRENCH energy giant EDF yesterday played down reports that it is seeking to offload a further 20 per cent stake in British Energy.
It said it has no current plans to part with more of the East Kilbride-based firm after it sold a 20 per cent share to Centrica for 2.5 billion (2.2bn) last May. EDF has stated it wants to sell off 5bn worth of assets. Its UK electricity distribution network is thought to be among the targets.
