Sainsbury’s moves home insurance
SAINSBURY’S financial services arm has dropped Halifax as its home insurance underwriter and moved to Royal Bank of Scotland following a competitive tender process.
A spokesman for Sainsbury’s said the deal followed on from a similar contract win for RBS Insurance last year, when the bank took on the supermarket chain’s car insurance work.
The grocer claimed its car insurance sales rose by 60 per cent after being re-launched, but refused to release any figures.
News of the switch comes as it launches two revamped home insurance policies.
