Llouyds branch sale: What the deal means for you

Lloyds TSB have sold all of their Scottish branches to the Co-op

Lloyds TSB have sold all of their Scottish branches to the Co-op

HOW will the sale of all LLoyds TSB branches in Scotland affect bank customers?

Q: I am a Lloyds TSB customer in Scotland – what will happen to my branch?

A: These branches will become part of the Co-operative group but it is too early to say if or when they will be branded Co-operative banks. From next summer they will be rebranded as TSB. Lloyds will contact its customers to explain exactly what will happen.

Q: Will there be any change to my branch sort code or account number?

A: Lloyds TSB says these will not change, though the Co-op said it was too early to say.

Q: What about my credit cards, cheque books and statements?

A: All cards and cheque books will continue to be used as normal. But eventually they will be re-issued with the name of the new bank.

Q: Which branches are included in the sale?

A: All C&G branches are included in the sale, plus all Lloyds TSB Scotland branches and some Lloyds TSB branches in England and Wales. If you’d like to know which branches are transferring please follow the link below. Lloyds will rebrand its remaining 1,300 branches in England and Wales.

Q: I am a Lloyds customer living in Scotland with an account at a branch in England not included in the transfer. Where do I go for my day to day banking needs?

A: This has yet to be resolved. In Scotland Lloyds will operate through Bank of Scotland branches but there are no plans to fully integrate the two. Lloyds says it will contact what a spokesman called “orphan” customers when it finalises its plans.

Q: I have a mortgage with C&G. What will happen to it?

A: C&G mortgages will transfer. Some mortgage customers with Lloyds will be transferred but Lloyds won’t be confirming that until the deal is completed. Any customers who are transferring will be transferring on their own terms and conditions.

Q: Will any branches close?

A: No.
